About the Conference

Artificial Intelligence and the Human Future: Ethics, Communication, and the Voices of Women and Youth at the Margins

Dominican University, Ibadan, Nigeria, invites papers for its first international interdisciplinary conference on Artificial Intelligence and the Human Future. The conference addresses a critical and underexplored dimension of contemporary AI research: the ethical, communicative, and social implications of artificial intelligence for marginalised populations in the Global South, with particular attention to women and youth.
As AI continues to reshape societies globally, African perspectives—especially those engaging AI through ethics, philosophy, theology, communication studies, and applied social practice—remain insufficiently represented. This conference seeks to fill that gap by fostering rigorous interdisciplinary dialogue among AI researchers, ethicists, social scientists, media scholars, faith leaders, and practitioners, while positioning African institutions as active contributors to global AI discourse.
The conference will feature Interdisciplinary Exchange Sessions, pairing AI specialists with scholars and practitioners from the humanities and social sciences, to promote cross-disciplinary understanding and stimulate collaborative research initiatives. Contributions that foreground human dignity, justice, inclusion, and the common good are especially encouraged.
