DOMINICAN UNIVERSITY HOLDS INAUGURAL MASS FOR THE 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION
Dominican University held its Inaugural Mass for the 2026/2027 Academic Session on Friday, 16 October 2026, at the Dominican Chapel. The Mass began promptly at 10:00 a.m. and was presided over by His Lordship, Most Rev. Peter Olukayode Odetoyinbo, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Abeokuta.
The celebration was well attended by priests, members of staff, representatives of religious communities, and students of the prestigious University, who gathered to seek God’s blessings and guidance for the new academic session.
In his message, the Bishop emphasized that the beginning of a new academic session presents yet another opportunity to open our hearts to the Holy Spirit, allowing Him to teach, enlighten, and guide us in all our academic pursuits. His exhortation served as a reminder that academic excellence must go hand in hand with spiritual growth, openness to God’s wisdom, and a commitment to the pursuit of truth.
As the University embarks on another academic year, the celebration calls the entire university community to entrust its teaching, learning, research, and other academic endeavours to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, trusting in His wisdom to lead the community towards a fruitful and successful session.
